Our Pearl Salt is formed in salt pans by evaporating the aquamarine seawater of Tanzania's Swahili Coast. The strong northern Kaskazi winds roll the salt crystals into delicate pearls that pop when you eat them. A bright, mineral flavor profile and perfectly crunchy texture make this pearl salt an ideal finishing salt or garnish for all your favorite foods.Ingredients:
Sea salt (NaCl)
- Add to salad dressings, marinades and rubs
- Sprinkle over finished dishes like steak, vegetables and chicken
- Garnish a pot of cooked beans
- Use as a finishing salt on cookies, brownies, cakes and truffles
-
Our gingery, savory, workhorse-of-the kitchen Robusta Black Peppercorns come from a small organic farm in Vietnam. They're harvested when the peppercorns are ripe, and their classic, herbaceous, robust flavor captivated us at first grind! They're grown by two friends, Dūng and Thanh, using regenerative integrated agricultural techniques. This is your daily black pepperIngredients:
Black peppercorns, organically grown (Piper nigrum v. Vĩnh Linh and Trâu Xanh)
- You know what to do: grind over everything
- Add to tomato sauces, braises, beans, soups and stocks
- Try pairing a little ground peppercorn with fresh fruit
-
Our savory, funky Fermented White Peppercorns are highly prized in Indonesia but rarely found in the US. They add a deep umami flavor and funk to everything they touch. They're grown on a family farm on the island of Bangka by a farmer named Pak Sugiri and his son, Ilham. The peppercorns are picked fresh and fermented according to traditional methods.Ingredients:
Fermented white peppercorns (Piper nigrum)
- Substitute for black peppercorns where you want a funky kick
- Grind over seafood dishes (especially good in crab cakes)
- Add to blended vegetable soups, like potato or cauliflower soups

SOURCING
One of the most common questions we get is, "What's your favorite spice grinder?
Sure, there's a special place for our mortar and pestles and pepper mills, but we always wanted a spice grinder versatile enough to handle almost anything we threw at it.
Enter Alex, Dave, and Nancy from FinaMill. Alex had a whole career working in spice grinding technology when he invented the most versatile spice grinder in the world.
We spent over a year testing out FinaMill's patented interchangeable spice pod system and we fell in love.
To use the Finamill, load the pod with the spice of your choice, click it into the handle and grind directly over your food like you would with a traditional pepper mill.
